How To Commission a Pet Portrait

Here’s a simple guide on how to commission a pet portrait from me.

  • Send me an email with some details of your pet - please include lots of photos (at least 4-5). Please also specify the size of painting you require, and the number of pets you would like featured.

  • If you’ve received a gift voucher please quote your voucher code in your email.

  • Once we’ve agreed on the details of the portrait, I will book a slot for the portrait in my diary. I will then require a 50% deposit to secure the commission (if it has not already been paid for via a gift voucher). The remaining 50% will be due on completion of the portrait.

  • Payment can be made by Bank Transfer or PayPal - I’ll provide all the details you need on an invoice.

  • I will start with creating lots of sketches to get a feel for your pet and their personality. I will then start putting together a selection of composition ideas for you to choose from. Your feedback is very welcome at this stage - I like it to be a really collaborative experience.

  • I will send you the composition sketches via email for you to select one in order to proceed with the final portrait.

  • The finished portrait is then created in watercolour, and I will email you with a photo of it once it is completed.

  • If you are completely happy with the final portrait, the final payment of 50% of the total cost will be due and I will then arrange postage of the Portrait via Royal Mail Special Delivery.
